Healthy Self Care: Take a Netflix Night

Some days are just bad. They can be bad from the start, they can go wrong at lunch, or you can get home from work and just fall apart. Sometimes your whole week just sucks! I don't think there's anything wrong with admitting that sometimes life gets a little overwhelming. But there are some things that always make bad days better: a cuddle with a puppy, a margarita or two, a movie night with someone cute or – most importantly – food.

Everyone has a favorite comfort food – doesn't matter if it's healthy or unhealthy, there's always one meal you eat that cheers you up no matter what. For me, potato leek soup takes the prize. For my Greek husband, one of his go-to comfort food dinners is a baguette stuffed with spinach and artichoke dip. Yum, yum! There's nothing better than coming home after a long day, making this meal and retreating to the couch.

So, as I said earlier, food helps. But you know what else helps? ... Netflix.

Netflix (or Amazon Prime, or Hulu or HBOGo) will never hurt you or yell at you or post passive aggressive social media posts about you. Netflix appreciates the effort you put in at work, it doesn't care what your bank account balance is and it doesn't mind recommending things to do, but always goes with your choices. Netflix is there for you, so this Thursday, take a break - from your phone, your worries, your social life - make this baguette and tune into something you've had on your Watch List for a while.
