This past weekend I made my way to DC to celebrate one of my oldest friendships: my friend from pre-K officially turned (number redacted) earlier in the week and in honor of our long standing tradition of checking out different exhibits together, I grabbed a pair of early morning tickets to the Future of Sports.
What: The Future of Sports is a pop-up art installation in Washington, DC that’s running until November 30, 2017. The interactive exhibit was thought up by Nicole Pinedo, founder and creative director of Made in the District. Made in the District is an online based publication & production company that started with the goal of driving and encouraging the climate of creativity in Washington, DC.
Where: 700 H. Street NE, Washington DC. Be sure to check out the murals and different shops and bars on H. Street! If you’re a pizza fan, stop by the H Street &pizza location – it was the first one ever!
Parking: Parking is easy. You can pay to park on the street, or go duck onto a side street for free parking.
Crowds: My friend and I have a method: we go early. The Future of Sports opens at 10:00 AM and we grabbed tickets to the 10:30 group. It was pretty quiet, and we had time to go through the installation a couple of times to snap all the pictures we wanted.
Yay or Nay: This is a fun little exhibit and super aesthetically pleasing. It’s a YAY from me, and I can’t wait to see what else Made in the District has in store for the future.
